August 20th-22nd, 2021
Greetings, fellow Unpersons!
Carter, Keri, and the rest of the Unsafe Space team are excited to announce plans for an Unsafe Space retreat at a luxury ranch in Texas the weekend of August 20th-22nd. This will be an opportunity to hang out and get to know one another better, relax, and have some intermittent frivolity.
We’re renting a large ranch which sits on a lake just outside of Austin. There’s plenty of room for outdoor activities during the day—volleyball, swimming, etc. (perhaps even a zip line—we’re not sure yet). And in the evenings, we can sit by the fire pit and knit some socks, wax philosophical, or play a bit of D&D with Dungeon Master Beverly. A full activities and entertainment list is TBA.
We’re excited about this, but it won’t happen unless you want it to. If enough people sign up and pay prior to June 25th, then we’ll green-light the retreat! If not, we’ll scrap it and refund everyone.
The Full Retreat Package includes meals and lodging at the ranch from Friday evening until checkout on Sunday. You’ll live with other Unpersons the entire time and will be able to participate in any and all activities—planned or spontaneous. Flights are not included, but we will operate a shuttle to and from the Austin airport.
The Day Pass will get you into planned events on Saturday, August 21st, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will include both lunch and dinner.
We’re really looking forward to better getting to know some of you in the Unsafe Space community. If you have any questions about the retreat, please feel free to reach out to Beverly, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are planning to attend, please remember to book before June 25th, so we can keep our reservation.
- Lodging: All lodging will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Most beds will be in shared rooms. Private rooms are an additional fee.
- Meals: The plan will be to buy food for us to prepare together, but if enough people sign up, we might be able to hire a chef to help out.
- Airport Shuttle: We’ll have a shuttle to pick people up from the Austin airport on Friday and return them to the Austin airport on Sunday, although the shuttle schedule won’t be nailed down until we know who is coming and when.
