Keri and Carter are joined by Daniel Miller, author of Texit: Why and How Texas Will Leave The Union. They discuss the impossibility of “serving two masters,” and the difference between supporting the principles behind America and America’s current Federal Government. Daniel describes the post-WWII trend of political sovereignty around the world, and the popularity within Texas of the idea of independence. He addresses many of the major fears and doubts expressed by cynics, including financial and military concerns, and compares Texit to Brexit, explaining that leaving the United States is more like leaving the European Union than many people might imagine. Which is more realistic, he asks: reigning in 2.5M unelected Washington bureaucrats, or convincing fellow Texans (many of whom are already supportive of the idea) to vote their way out of the Union?
