[Dangerous Thoughts] Taylor Lorenz and the Ethics of Saul Alinsky

April 20, 2022

Carter contrasts Taylor Lorenz’s performative victimhood over attacks by a vicious online mob with her glib doxxing of the woman behind the LibsofTikTok Twitter account. This leads him to examine the ethical philosophy on display in Saul Alinsky’s influential book, “Rules for Radicals.” He takes a detour to discuss the foundations for rational ethics (from an atheist perspective), and ends with a realization that the modern left is operating in bad faith and cannot be treated with civility.
