In the wake of the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, Carter discusses the legal obligations of the police, and how “pragmatic” solutions that ignore principles are not, in fact “pragmatic” at all in the long run. Thinking in terms of principles–if they are the right principles–is also practical.
